Indians in Sweden: how many and where do they live?
Origin India: how large the group is, where it lives and how it has changed.
About 82,000 people in Sweden have an origin in India (2025). Of them, about 61,000 were born in India and 21,000 were born in Sweden to at least one parent from there.
The most people born in India live in Göteborg (10,758), Stockholm (10,011) and Solna (3,132). The largest share of residents is in Älmhult (3.8%), Solna (3.6%) and Ludvika (3.1%).
By origin in India we mean people who were born in India, or who were born in Sweden and have at least one parent born in India.
